Background-

Carlsquare, the European M&A adviser, has hired Jamie Edge as a Partner to deepen its education and training practice and extend its reach in the UK.

Edge arrives from EY-Parthenon, where he was an M&A Partner and headed the firm’s worldwide education and training deal work. Over two decades in mergers and acquisitions, he has worked on more than 70 deals, roughly 50 of them in education, training and EdTech. They include Orbital Education’s sale to EQT and Matchware’s sale to Everway.

In his new role, Edge will back Carlsquare’s offices and clients abroad on education mandates. He will also build links with UK companies and shareholders in all sectors. He will team up with Munich-based Partner Sebastian Fischer.

The hire comes as demand for digital and AI-linked skills training fuels dealmaking. HolonIQ counted about 360 global education transactions in 2025, up roughly 20 per cent on 2024.

Edge said most education deals fall in the mid-market, where Carlsquare works best. He noted that EdTech deal numbers have climbed for over ten years, and he wants to help founders and lead cross-border transactions.

Chief Executive Michael Moritz said Edge’s arrival lifts the firm’s education offer and supports growth in London. He described Edge as a UK native who knows the domestic market well.

Carlsquare’s London office has about 25 investment professionals under Managing Partner Arnold Holle. Across Europe and the US, the firm employs more than 180 people in 12 offices.
