Background-
Repton School has announced plans to open Repton Bahrain, its first school in the Kingdom, with a 32,000-square-meter campus offering British qualifications to pupils aged three to 18.
The co-educational school will serve families across Bahrain and those from Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province, who can reach it via the King Fahd Causeway. It will become the thirteenth school in the Repton Family of Schools.
Pupils will study International GCSEs and A-Levels, giving them a British pathway to university. The planned campus will include digital classrooms, a purpose-built sixth form center, a six-lane swimming pool, an athletics track and 4G sports pitches. The group has not yet named the site. It will share the location, the Founding Principal and other details in due course.
Mark Semmence, Headmaster of Repton UK and Chairman of Repton Family of Schools, said Repton Bahrain will share the group’s values while respecting Bahrain’s culture and traditions. He noted that Repton has educated young people since 1557.
Abdulhakeem Al Khayyat, Managing Partner of Daylight Advisory, said Repton will add to teaching methods and education quality in Bahrain, notably through its award-winning STEM program. He said the school will also add competition to the sector and help more pupils seek places at international universities.
Pupils will join exchanges and residential visits to Repton in the UK and learn from careers experts and teachers across the group through virtual classrooms.
