Key Background
The United Arab Emirates has initiated an innovative action by introducing artificial intelligence( AI) as a obligatory subject in all government seminaries, right from kindergarten to Grade 12. The policy will be rolled out in the 2025 – 2026 academy time and shall render scholars AI- complete for practical operation, bring ethical knowledge among them, and equip them for the unborn right from nonage.
It’s designed over seven broad areas of learning: core AI knowledge, algorithm and data knowledge, AI software work, proper use, real-world application, design innovation, and interaction with policy and community issues. It’s to be rolled out gradually, based on student developmental levels—from playful exploration at early school years up through to sophisticated simulations and ethics discussions by high school. Surprisingly, the program would be incorporated into normal classes like Computing and Creative Design without adding any extra burden on school time.
To facilitate this process, teachers will undergo rigorous training with the cooperation of national AI institutions and teacher schools. Teachers will receive specially prepared lesson plans and materials with a complete format that is targeted towards developing AI fluency among students and staff. Pilot programs have already been piloted to leave space for comments and the improvement process prior to national implementation.
Outside the classroom, the UAE’s AI strategy is being taken out of the country and exported to the business world. Government-linked businesses will be appointing AI chatbot directors onto their boards of directors as an effort to inject AI into company governance. AI-driven systems for legislation are also being implemented to facilitate faster and more efficient policymaking—hopping to boost processing performance by up to 70%.
This combined stimulus targets the vision of UAE as a global AI leader through facilitating early learning, professional adoption, and innovation with the aim of achieving an extraordinary GDP increase through technology growth.
