Background

EdTech firm Luvia has partnered with Open Campus to offer students in Vietnam verifiable digital credentials. The move marks a major step in modernising student records and learning paths in the country’s education system.

The partnership will combine Luvia’s mobile learning app with Open Campus ID, allowing students to receive portable, verified records of their learning achievements. The initiative includes a school-based learning platform that selected Hanoi schools will pilot in early 2026 with support from the Ministry of Education and Training.

Luvia launched its mobile learning app on iOS and Android in November 2025. The app now serves about 200,000 high school and university students across its partner schools. It breaks the national curriculum into small lessons and offers personalised practice tests to support daily learning.

Under the new collaboration, students using the app and school platform will receive blockchain-verified credentials as they complete learning activities. These credentials will form part of a digital learner profile that can be shared across institutions and, over time, with employers.

The in-school platform aims to reduce administrative work for teachers, improve communication with parents and students, and issue official learning records linked to verified progress. Luvia plans to expand the platform nationwide by the end of 2026, with the potential to reach more than ten million students.

Luvia founder and chief executive Hailey Nguyen said the goal is to help students carry their achievements wherever new opportunities arise. Open Campus project lead Jonah Lau said the system ensures student records remain portable, secure, and privacy-focused.

The Ministry of Education and Training said the Hanoi pilot will test whether digital credentials can improve teaching efficiency and learning outcomes. Officials will review results before considering wider adoption.

The companies said the verified credentials could later support education financing, admissions checks, and employer screening. They are also in talks with major Vietnamese banks on possible future collaborations.
