Background

Anthropic has launched a global artificial intelligence training initiative for teachers in partnership with Teach For All, aiming to help educators build AI skills and guide how the technology is used in classrooms.

The programme will give more than 100,000 teachers and alumni from Teach For All’s global network access to Anthropic’s AI Literacy and Creator Collective. The initiative focuses on helping educators understand AI, use it responsibly, and adapt Anthropic’s large language model, Claude, to meet classroom needs.

Teach For All CEO Wendy Kopp said teachers must play a central role in shaping AI in education. She said the partnership allows educators to experiment with AI tools directly and contribute ideas on how these technologies should be designed and applied to improve learning outcomes.

The AI Literacy and Creator Collective is built around three connected programmes. The AI Fluency Learning Series includes six live sessions developed with Anthropic’s education team. These sessions explore practical ways teachers can use AI in classrooms. The first session, held in November 2025, attracted more than 530 participants.

Claude Connect is an online hub where educators share prompts, teaching ideas, and real-world examples. The platform encourages peer-to-peer learning and collaboration across countries and education systems.

Claude Lab allows teachers to test practical AI applications in their work. Participants can join monthly office hours with Anthropic’s team and provide feedback that helps shape Claude’s future development.

Michael Gilmore, chief operating officer at Teach For Australia, said the partnership combines classroom experience with technical expertise, creating a valuable learning opportunity. He added that the organisation plans to continue its involvement in 2026.

Educators already involved say the programme is making a difference. Rosina Bastidas, a technology educator in Argentina, said working with Claude helped her design interactive digital learning spaces aligned with the school curriculum.

Anthropic said the initiative shows how teachers can lead the responsible use of AI in education.
